A little Comfort despite the illness

I was feeling really sick and terrible when I woke up and the morning drizzle isn't making the condition any better. What is worse is that I got to go to work still as I got a meeting in the afternoon. I can always go in later in the afternoon but I got to work on those presentation slides and compile the experimental results.

Despite all these, after the meeting presentation is over. There is some relief and comfort which I like to share with all. While I was preparing for the presentation, Adrian dropped me a MSN message asking me if I can drop by his house tonight to play game. Too bad I got an appointment with Bobby and I am also not in my pink of health. As I was chatting with Adrian, I sent him a photo of Elynn which I took during a recent shoot (Adrian knew Elynn from some events which he did in the past). He send the photo to Elynn through MSN and we engage in a 3 way talk. I am glad that she like the photo despite that portraiture is not my expertise. I am still trying to polish my portrait skills so that I can help others to build their portfolio and profile. I might post up some photos that I took last Saturday some other time.

Anyway, after the meeting, I met Bobby (photoexpress) at Funan in the evening to show him the Guest Book cum Album which I bought for the IR Exhibition opening. There are quite a few who turn up today so I might as well start a list.

They quite like the album I bought as the layout is rather nice. We had a short discuss like how to prepare it and so on and what are the outstanding matters for the exhibition. It is not all serious talk and so on, with this branch of fun-loving people, fun stuffs are always around. It really lift my spirit up despite that I am still having a running nose.

Well, that is not the main part. As we parted after the meeting, I took a bus back home from Funan. I can always try taking the NE Line MRT to cut short the travelling time, but I still prefer to take bus 80 which takes around 1 hour or so to reach my home as I can always get a seat and enjoy to the music in my MP3 player and do some thinking along the way.

As I was enjoying the music, I just thought about my dear brother Vincent and also his good friend Pang and how long that we haven't catch up with one another then I remember that I forgot to remind Vincent about Ian's birthday.

I send Vincent a message and he replied that he remembered Ian's birthday and sent him the message on the actual day. We "chatted" through SMS for quite a while. I told Vincent about my upcoming IR Exhibtion and his usual reply is that he is not a town person (yah, he is a Yishun person, hahaha...) and so on.

The next few paragraphs are the SMS exchange between me and Vincent. I hope he won't mind me sharing this as I find that it is very touching and inspiring.

Vincent : Now you finally found something that brings you peace. Good man. Learn to slow down your pace and see the beautiful side of life. (This is in response when I told him about my IR ehibition)

Me : Ok. See when are you free. Maybe we can catch up. After coming back from the break, I felt like a changed man.

Me : Was about to message you when you message me first. You really read my mind. (I was about to send out the previous reply when Vincent message me about finding something that bring me peace)

Me : Well, not only that. Because I got my brothers by my side and also Ah Pang and all my friends too.

Vincent : Its our luck to have each other. Each of us possess different viewpoints of life and our lifestyle varies so much and yet we are as one and this is fate. We must keep each other same in the mind and heart. (This message really gives me the comfort. I was really touched by this message that it nearly moved me to tears.)

Vincent : Must learn to maintain the peace of your mind at all times and place by learning to see no differences in people and things and also proper letting go of improper desires. What is meant to be ours will be there in time to come.

Me : This is very true. That is why I am very thankful that I have you all by my side not only in bad time but good time also.

Vincent : Dun say that. 3 of us have the same heart and thoughts which is beyond words and this is what that keep us together no matter where we are. We are lucky to have each other and this simple loving thoughts is what that makes us peaceful and joyful. This is what money can't buy.

Despite my running nose and cough, these messages really provide me the comforting thoughts and good memories when I was back in QAE. It is really nostalgic.

Alrighty, it is getting late now. Time to get some good rest and recover soon. I still got a long day ahead tomorrow. Cheerz.

Update : Ian posted this on his blog this blog in response to mine. Really bring back tons of memories. Really missed those days
