Good Old Days @ Gloria Jeans (One Fulleraton)

Happen to this this tagboard message from Ian "Me? I just miss the days when we hung out at the Gloria Jeans at Fullerton." This message really strike me and bring back memories of the good old days where we hang around One Fulleraton's Gloria Jeans. It is a really pity that they close it down and now it is taken over by Baker's Inn.

I still can recalled Ian's favourite drink is Cookies and Mint, me, I forgot what I like already. Hahaha...

Now, Gloria Jeans is back in Singapore but I have yet to see any outlet at One Fulleraton yet. Hopefully they can buy that place over again. :)

Skip Work Today. : P

As stated in my title, I skipped work today... Well, as to why I decided to skip work today, it is a long story but I really got no mood to go to work today. Maybe I should start my story from last night.

Last night, I collected my S8R photo prints for my Fashion Photography and head down to PSS for submission. As I am mounting my prints onto the mounting board, Edward came by and took a look at my prints then he pointed out how come one of my High Key prints got some stains. I was really shocked, I thought it is water stain and try to clean it but it won't go off. After a careful examination, I realise that it is oil or grease stain, how did it get there, I am still trying to figure out. But I was really very angry as it is my time and effort to send the photo for printing and make my way down to PSS for submission. I was really pissed as I thought I can settle this by today (not that it must be settled by today but I hope to get it done asap so that I can work on other things).

On my way back, I keep thinking how did the stain get there and what to do as I am jammed pack for the rest of this week as I got dinners to attend to and also meeting up others for discussion and so on.

After reaching home, I got no mood to do anything even thought I am suppose to do some revision tonight while I still can before my exams. Not knowing what to do, I go to the fridge and pour out the remaining Bailey from what is left of a bottle that was given to me by Sykes Tang during our CNY dinner gathering. At first, I didn't feel anything, but after a while, the alcohol starts to act up and I can feel the effect. I just head to bed after that.

This morning, as I woke up, I just thought of skipping work today so that I can catch up with my revision and maybe go to settle my photo printing in the afternoon. Hopefully that can lift my mood up a bit. As I am in the midst of revising, it started to rain and so I took a short nap as it is cozy.

I woke up after 1/2 an hour of napping and decided to come online and do a bit a work as I felt better now. :) Will be heading out later as soon as the weather turn for the better. Cheerz.

US Flashback...

Was out earlier to grab some Yakult (Hope I get the spelling right) to help with my digestion as I had a very good meal earlier with my father, cousins, nieces and nephew. I walked to the nearby petrol kiosk but apparently they don't carry Yakult so I went to the 7-11 stores nearby instead, but they don't have it too. Sigh...

Anyway, that aside, as I was walking, I observed that the sky looks really beautiful tonight, with all the little stars in the sky. I can recall how beautiful the sky looks when I was in Gurnee. Not sure why but I really missed that place very much especially recently. How I wish I can fly back to US again and stay there, enjoy driving from the city to the sub-urban area especially in the night, the feeling is really great.

Ok, got to snap out of this. Time to bed. Good night everyone.

Photos Selection for Fashion Photography

Was down at PSS earlier to meet up with my instructor Mr Goh Kim Hui for photo selection for my Fashion Photography. Not many turn up today for the selection, only 5 persons including me turn up.

It is good in the sense that as there are lesser people, we can have more time with our selection and the few of us just chat up after the selection and Mr Goh tried out my Nikon Capture NX software as I brought my laptop down.

After the reviewing my photos, somehow I felt that my skills had improve as compared to 1 year or so back. Hope to keep improving until I can get my unque style of shooting as I'm still not able to distinguish myself in term of my shooting style and creativity from others. Guess I need to work on that.

Anyway, after the photo selection, I decided to walk to Funan to check out the Adobe Lightroom software. As I was walking, I passed by my favourite Coffee Bean outlet, so I decided to pop by and have a cup of tea. As usual, I ordered an Earl Grey tea but I ordered something different today, I didn't get the Opera cake that I usually do but instead, I gotten a slice of Cuppaccino Cheesecake just to try out, it is not bad, can consider try ordering it next time. As I am slowly enjoying the tea, I then realised that I haven't really find the time to enjoy the peace and quiet here since my term started. Guess I am really busy.

After tea, I proceed to Funan to hunt for the Lightroom software, but I just can't seems to find it, maybe it is not fully release yet. Will try to check back some other time again.

Squirrels

I happened to see this family of squirrels on this particular tree in Singapore Botanical Garden and I find them really cute. However, a pity I was not very properly equipped to get good shots of them, but here are a few shots taken using my 18-200mm lens.

All Work, Studies and No Play, Really???

It has been quite some time since I update anything on my blog, really sorry about that. Well, I have been quite busy for the last few days during the block holidays. I did some studies to catch up my academics works, I also have been worrying about my project work as the tension and expectation is rising, but it isn't all work and studies and no play. I did spend some time yesterday at Ben's house for a New Year visit and we played the Xbox Godzilla which can have 4 players altogether. However, I had to admit that I spend most of my time online on the Clubsnap forum or looking for other informations. Not sure why but I don't have the mood to blog...

Maybe I am just burn out because of the need to juggle work and studies or I had been worrying too much about my project. Oh well... I guess my white hair are popping up again. Hahaha...

Got too many things on my mind now, assignments, projects, studies, work, leisure and so on, really a bit tough to manage at this moment. Hopefully that this semester can be over soon so that I got less things to worry about. Wish me luck my friends. Cheerz.

Lifetime Member of PSS

I was at PSS earlier to submit my Wedding Photography shots which I owe Edward (My Wedding Photography Instructor) for a long time. At the same time, I signed up for a lifetime membership with PSS at $300 as I managed to achieve a distinctionship for my Licentateship. This is just a head start, hope to keep improving and maybe I will go for APSS or ARPS in the future. Wish me luck. Cheerz.

Night Photography @ No Man's Land

Took these night shots last Wednesday night or should it be Thursday morning wee hour at a place known as No Man's Land. It is going to be turn into a park which is really sad as it is a very nice place for night photography. Hope to go there again real soon. Cheerz and Enjoy.

Giving Up Photography?!!!

I have been rather busy recently ever since the school term started and there had been a lot of tension and stress with my project work as the expectation for my prototype is getting higher and higher. Studies wise, taking 2 subjects this semester seems too much to cope with as one of the subjects just keep giving us assignment after assignment.

Besides that, I have been rather depress recently, not sure why too. I am really very tired. What is worse is that during the last Sunday Fashion Photography lesson shoot at Fort Canning, I find that all the photos are not up to my expectation and standard, what is wrong with me...

With all these stress and setback and lack of time, I really thought of taking a break in photography and giving it up...

BUT, luckily, after seeing Stanley(Hosea) photo in Clubsnap of a shot taken at night, it just motivated me to pick up my gears and go for a night shoot. So, I put down everything and went to an area near my house known as No-Man's Land to do my night shoot. This area had been scheduled for development recently and I had really miss out so many chances to take photos here before those tractors and bulldozers came in. :(

The area had been fenced up, but I managed to locate a big opening at the front gate and I just crawl in and start taking photos from 10:30pm until 1am plus. It feel so good and I felt really relaxed and energetic. I feel alive again. I guess I haven't been taking my time to enjoy the nature landscape and the beauty of the night. I can feel the satisfaction in every shot that I took. I feel passionate about photography once again.

I am thankful that I really make the move to go out for the shoot earlier. I guess I WILL NOT think of giving up photography. No way I am giving up this passion of mine. :)

Happy Birthday to Vincent

I almost forgot that today is the Birthday of my good buddy Vincent. Just like to wish him a Happy Birthday and All the Best. I am very thankful that I got him and Ian by my side when I needed them the most. Thanks for been our buddy. The legacy of GST will live on forever. Cheerz.
