Reporting Live from Seoul, Korea

Thankfully that there is network connection in the hotel and no charge for using it. I am now reporting live from my hotel room in Seoul, Korea. So far the journey is safe and tiring, but it is fun and eye-opening. Prof Chen is also a very nice too, he was out with me trying to explore the neighbourhood near the hotel and we also took a train down to Downtown Seoul too to explore a bit. Really an interesting night.

Maybe more details here.

My plane touch down in Incheon, Korea at around 2:51pm Korea time which is 1:51pm Singapore time. It had been a safe and pleasant flight. After we check out from the airport, there is a lady (Su Jin, Lee) from the Seoul National University of Technology (They are the one hosting the Capstone Design Fair) there to fetch us. She guided us to take a limousine bus service number 606 from the airport to Hotel Prima in CheongDam-Dong, GangNam-Gu, Seoul, Korea where we will stay for a night before heading over to the next city Taegue. The bus journey is very long, it took about more than 50 minutes to reach the hotel. After we reached the hotel, Prof Chen and I check in to our individual room, his room is 806 while mine is 824. The room is small but cozy, I did took a few shots, maybe I will share it with you when I am back.

At around 5:20pm (Korea Time), Prof Chen called me up to meet at the hotel lobby at 5:40pm to explore around the neighbourhood and also look for places to eat. Before leaving the hotel, we asked the front counter for a map which is really useful since neither Prof Chen nor I know where to go and which direction to head to and what is worse is that none of us speak Korean, hahaha.

After discussing and asking for a few minutes, we decided to walk along a path which the bus had past by earlier when on the way to the hotel. We walked for quite a distance. The weather is not that chilling cold like in Gurnee or Tianjin but it is still cold, luckily I got my old trusty jacket to relay on. We decided to eat at this Korea resturant which serve BBQ meat and soup, the mistake that we both made is that the food that we ordered are all too spicy, I can't believe that Korean can take so much spice and chilli. Hope to learn from this mistake from now on.

After dinner at around 8:00pm or so, Prof Chen and I decided that it is too early to head back to hotel and so we went around to explore more. We walked and came to a subway station. We wanted to try out the subway, and so we took the subway to Downtown Seoul to have a walk. It is a very interesting place which make me regret for not bringing my tripod. :( But still I manage to get a few shots, maybe I will share it when I am back. At around 10:50pm or so, we decided to head back for hotel and call it a night. What a tiring day.

I am not sure if the next hotel in Taegue will provide free laptop and free internet access too but I do hope to update my blog regularly to keep all updated of my progress. Cheerz and good night.
