Meaing and Purpose in Life

What is the purpose in life some may ask? That was the topic that Karen and I was talking about the other night when we were out for dinner. It do seem that the life of an average Singaporean is to study and graduate, find a job then work and labour, save enough money then buy a flat and start a family, give birth, plan for your kids then grow old and die. Then this cycle will be pass on to your child whom will follow the same cycle and it just continue to the next generation and the next.

Sound all too depressing? Well, it is all so true. Anyway, we didn't give it much thought but very much accepted that this is the meaing and purpose of life. Karen did bring up a very interesting point that couples are considering not having children so that they need not to suffer the same fate them or so that chilren won't be an added burden to them.

The thought really didn't strike me until early this morning which I understand more about the meaning and purpose in life. I was going to work slightly late this morning. As I was leaving my house, my neighbour cute little children greeted me. One of them was pushing a small cart with a "Da Gui" in it. This is such a cute sight which really put a smile on my face. At that moment, I then realise the true meaning of life. Sometime life isn't all about work and money. It is finding the little joy in life that put a smile on your face and the warmth in your heart. In short, life is hope and full of heart beat which may be a tiny little beautiful seed at the start but will grow into big and wonderful tree as time goes by.

(PS : I wrote this whole entry on journey to work and on my way back home using the "Notes" function on my Nokia N95 and also my SU-8W which I always carry with me now. Now, all I need to do is figure out how to transfer this onto my blog. Hmm...)

(Update : Yet another work of the Genius, I figure out how to extract the notes from the Nokia N95. So I can really use my N95 as a mini computer and type my blog as and when I want. Hahaha...)
