Exploration around Buona Vista and Portsdown Area

Was out for a recce trip today as I need to prepare for the upcoming outing at One North which is near to Buona Vista MRT, Biopolis and also NTU Alumni Club.

After I reached Buona Vista MRT, I walked to the back of the station as I wanted to explore a place call Rochester Park which is just next to the station. I was trying to find my way into Rochester Park but that area was block up as there is some sort of construction going on hence I got no choice but to give up the exploration for Rochester Park.

The next place that I wanted to explore is the railway track next to MOE. I have been eyeing that place for quite a while and I finally get my lazy bum to work and start exploring places that I always wanted to go.

As I am exploring around Buona Vista area, I do need a local guide who knows the area well and the first person that come to my mind is Chye Lai. I message him in the morning to see if he can join me for the exploration shoot but he woke up quite late this morning and he can only join me after 10:30am or so. Hence I started without him and start shooting around the train track area and proceed to MOE side and to Biopolis.

As I was at Biopolis area, Chye Lai arrived and I asked him if there is any way to go Rochester Park area. He told me of another alternative route and we both went over to explore that area. There are quite a few vacant houses in Rochester Park and we went into one of the houses to have a look. There are a lot of squirrels there but too bad I am using my IR modified camera and I don't have a proper telephoto lens to shoot these cute little creatures. One point to note, Rochester Park area are infested with mosquitoes as we both got bitten by quite a few of them. Geez...

Next, we went to area which is behind Queensway Shopping Centre to explore as I recalled Darren Tong told me that he took one of his IR shot there which is really beautiful. Chye Lai told me that the area is known as Portsdown Road. We continue to explore even though the weather is going to rain.

We kept our cameras and continue to walk from Portsdown Road and back to Biopolis. It is really a long and tiring as we have to brave the drizzling rain and the burning sun, both of us really sweat out a lot today but it was overall a very fruitful trip.

Just to share some of my humble shots. Enjoy.
