Relationships are what YOU make of them

Happen to read this on Ian’s blog and I think that the following sentence which he typed make a lot of sense.

"It all has to start from somewhere, doesn't it? After all, everyone starts off as perfect strangers. It's what happens between perfect strangers through our interactions that will help us grow closer and define our friendships and relationships."

It reminds me about other sayings which have similar idea such as “The final stop or destination is not crucial but it is the journey that matters.”

I got this one from Corrinne May’s website which reads “A home is not a place, it is the people.”

Though the few sentences look really different but the idea behind is the same.

The initial meeting is where things started, but to make things happen and to take it to the next level or stage, it is the interactions between individuals and how they will click which matters most. If there is no interaction, the relationship won’t even take off.

Sometime, it wasn’t about the outcome of how a relationship will work out but it is the interaction between two individuals which matters. It is through this interaction that they can start to understand each other and see if they can tune to the same wavelength and frequency or see if they share common interest or having the same principles in things.

As I was typing this, I was having flashback to the starting of 1996 where is all started. I remembered that I was usually the first few who will reach Blk 52, Level 6 for 8:30am lectures. Slowly, Vincent will arrive and his morning routine will be a morning puff at the back of the toilet. After that, we proceed into the lecture room and along came this bespectacled guy who just joined our class of 1K02. And yes, that guy is none other than… Ian… We didn’t really interact at first, but slowly, things start to fall into place and we simply just click. We bond a solid friendship and a brotherhood among the three of us. The thought of it still bring the smile on my face and the warmth in my heart. What a Nostalgic feeling…

Back to the topic on relationship, I always remember a saying, "Fate can only bring two persons this far, the rest is up to them." It is what people wants to make of their relationship which will decide things that will follow. The will of the Divine can only provide people with the opportunities, to make things happen, it all lies in oneself. Think about it.
