IR Outing #8 @ Expo (14th Sep 2007)

Today is the 8th IR Outing for the year of 2007 and this will be the last outing before I take a long break to concentrate on my upcoming exams. I guess the Divine is showing his grace by blessing us with really good weather today. The turn-up was really great and is a new record I believe. Here is the list of people who turn-up for the outing.

5. white5tar - Opps. Never catch this name but white5tar is using a D40 for IR which is really hard to get the white balance correct. The only way around it is to shoot in RAW.

8. Dennis - Dennis (Dennis is having a toothache, hope he get well soon.)
9. darklt - Victor (Victor got a compact and a D40X but as we don't have enough step-up ring to go around, he got to use his compact for IR all the way. Apologies.)

13. hweechwee - Poh (Poh has been out of action for quite a while, glad that she can join us.)
14. PandaOng - Jonathan (All thanks to Jon, we managed to get a bus ride back to Simei MRT from Expo area. We started off at Simei MRT and trek our way to Expo for the outing. As the afternoon sun is baking and all of us are tired after a few hours under the sun, walking back to the starting point looks tedious... There are a few buses around Expo area waiting for the mass to end. Yes, there are Sunday mass held in Expo hall. And so, Jonathan go ahead and ask one of the bus driver to send us to Simei MRT station instead of us walking back. We each paid a dollar to save the walking trip back. Really must thank Jon and also the bus uncle.)

16. adrewine - Andrew (Andrew is using the Olympus E510 for IR it is with live view. I was amaze that he can get the white balance correct as our past experience with Olympus users is that they can get the correct WB and got to shoot in RAW.)

18. square moon - Matthew (Matthew has been out of action for quite a while too, glad that he can join us. Thanks for the ride to Pasir Ris.)
19. glennboi - Glennboi (Saw Glennboi during the Nikon Mega-outing, glad that he can join us for today's IR Outing. He is using a D70 and he bought along his D200 to do some IR test too.)
20. Lotusfairy - Wendy (Saw Wendy during the Nikon Mega-Outing too. She attended a talk at MIND cafe and Matthew (deadpixel) was giving a talk on IR Photography and she is interested to test out. She is using a D80 and I managed to get the White Balance set correctly.)
21. Mezzotint - Martin (Always wanted to meet Martin as I find that his night photography shots are really good. Today finally gotten the chance to see him in person. He is using a D70s for his IR and I just share with him how to do it. But a pity that he never bring his tripod today. Hope that he managed to get some good shots.)
22. Vortex - Andy (Andy never put his name down, but glad that he came to join us.)
23. Deadpixel - Matthew (Matthew never put his name down too, but he is staying around Simei area, so he just pop by to join us.)
24. Qazwer - Lelise (Lelise never put his name down too, but he drove straight to Expo with Stanley for the shoot.)
25. Hosea - Stanley (Stan never put his name for the outing too. He met up with Lelise for for the shoot. We met up around halfway.)

As I never bring my tripod with me today, I never do any self-portrait. But I snap a few shots of photographers in action. :)
