A moment of peace

I usually don't like to bore my readers with what I do every day but today, I will just like to share with you what I did today because even though it is simple and uninteresting, I somehow find peace in myself. Anyway, here it goes.

This morning, I got a hard time waking up because the knockout effect of the alcohol did have it effect on me. Luckily I did not suffer a major hangover, just that I wanted to sleep like until there is no tomorrow. Anyway, I managed to pick myself up and get ready for an upcoming interview at Instron (@ Science Park Drive) at 11am. I took Bus No. 156 and later took a cab at Bukit Timah area due to an underestimation of the time taken for Bus 156 to reach Holland area where I should change to Bus No. 92. Anyway, by taking a cab, I was able to reach my destination 10 minutes before interview. The 2 interviewers, Dr Chai and Dr Liew(?) did give me a hard time, but I tried my best to persuade them to give me the job. Anyway, I didn't think I fare well for the interview, but at least I gave it my best shot.

After the interview, I thought of meeting Chye Lai up but my leather shoes are causing a slight discomfort, so I took an MRT back home instead where I took my lunch at the Compasspoint foodcourt and went back for a rest. After I woke up, I went back to Hougang Ave 5 to visit my mother. It seems that the muscle around her right eye is giving her problem again. I think it will be better to bring fro her review appointment to an earlier date.

After that, I went to the nearby Kopitiam around Hougang Mall area to have my dinner before making my way to town. I wanted to pick up the new release album by Corrinne May, "The Gift". Much to my surprise, I couldn't find it in HMV but I got it at Gramophone instead. Too bad that I didn't have my CD Player anymore, if not I can enjoy her album right away.

Before calling it a day, I made my way to my favourite Coffe Bean joint (the one that Ian, Kelvin, Aaron and I were hanging out and playing Munchkins the other time when Ian was back). Despite that things didn't very much turn up to my favour in the earlier half of the day, nothing beats taking some time off to really enjoy myself. I order a nice and warm cup of Earl Grey tea with a piece of Opera Cake and sitting at my cozy corner while reading a book (given by Pang, Vincent's good friend) and watching the world goes by. In the background, I can see 2 Jap or maybe Korean students studying and discussing their project. While over the speaker, I can hear some of my favourite songs such as "Take My Breathe Away", "How Do I Live", "Spainish Guitar" and "Truly, Madly, Deeply". Geez, the music really soothing today. At that moment, I can feel a sense of peace in myself. It really make my day. I hang out around there until 8:30pm or so before heading home.

Somehow, my visit to the Coffee Bean to unwound myself really lift up my spirit a little, or maybe getting Corrinne May's album just fill me with excitment, but whatever it is. I just feel happy and glad now and I will like to share it with you. I believe in whatever you do, just fully indulge and let the spirit and feeling flow through you. Stay Happy. Cheerz.
