TNP Big Walk Nikon Shootout

The day is finally here after a long wait. A day that all Nikonians are waiting for, the TNP Big Walk Nikon Shootout. 450 selected Nikonians will participate in this big event to shoot the Big Walk and submit the photos for competition and the prizes is really attractive.

The night before the big day, I can't really sleep as I feel really all excited. I was surfing the Clubsnap forum to pass my time and I see quite a few Nikonians posting questions in the forum asking about the Nikon Shuttle Bus Service Route and the Bus stop location. As I can't really sleep, I decided to drawing out a rough map of the Shuttle Bus Pick-Up and Drop-Off point hoping that it will be of some help.

I woke up early in the morning to pack my gears and took a cab to the National Stadium where this event is held. I reached there at around 5:15am as I need to be early so that I can change my T-shirt from size L to XL (everyone who was selected for the competition need to don on the Yellow T-Shirt from Nikon). The other reason is that I wish to take part in the Early Bird Lucky Draw where 10 lucky early bird out of the first 100 can qualify to win a 1G CF card.

After registering and changing my T-shirt to a larger size, I was given a Nikon goodie bag which contains a towel, bottle of water and a small backpack, it is really good and generous of Nikon to provide all these goodies for their supporters. Anyway, after donning on my T-shirt and wearing my Pass around my neck (everyone who take part was given a pass number. My Pass No. is #131), I am all set for this fun and interesting event.

Poh, Andrew and George (from my IR Group) were also chosen for this competition. So we all met up and discuss our plan and how to shoot and capture the best moment of the event. However, when the Big Walk started, everyone was scattered around which is quite chaotic. I tried to locate them but in the end, I ended up with Christopher, Jassica and her friend Cynthia (both Christopher and Jassica are from my PSS Digital Basic Course). We proceed on as a group for our shoot. It is very fun and interesting experience as we just walk around and shoot and chit-chat along the way.

At around 10:30am, the event is almost coming to a closure. We gathered back at the Nikon tentage for the lucky draw. Both George and Stanley (Hosea) won the Early Bird Prizes while Tan (THL) and I won the 100 Bonus Prize Draw, the prize consist of a Nikon Vest and a DSLR bag.

It has been a really fun, exciting and interesting day for me, really unforgetful as I was given the chance to know more fellow Nikon users and I feel that I am really lucky enough to win something in the end. Anyway, have to start selecting some good photos to be submitted for the competition, hope to really win the Big Prize. Wish me luck. Cheerz.
